FRAMINGHAM – <\/strong>Massachusetts\u2019s\u00a0average gas price is down one cent from last week\u00a0($2.13)<\/em>, averaging\u00a0$2.12\u00a0per gallon.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today\u2019s price is one cent lower than a month ago\u00a0($2.13)<\/em>, and 56 cents cheaper than August 17, 2019 ($2.68)<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Massachusetts\u2019s average gas price is 5 cents lower than the national average.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn the last four weeks, motorists have seen prices slowly decrease, despite gasoline demand last week reaching the highest level since mid-March, according to the latest Energy Information Administration (EIA) weekly report,\u201d said Mary Maguire, AAA Northeast Director of Public and Legislative Affairs, in a press release. \u201cGas prices are stalling, if not decreasing, at the vast majority of pumps around the country. We may have seen gasoline prices peak for 2020, barring any major hurricane(s).\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AAA Northeast\u2019s August 17 survey of fuel prices found the current national average to be the same as last week, averaging\u00a0$2.17\u00a0<\/strong>a gallon. Today\u2019s national average price is 3 cents lower than a month ago ($2.20)<\/em>, and 45 cents cheaper than this day last year\u00a0($2.62)<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
