King jr. is requesting the City of Framingham&#8217;s Chief Financial Officer Mary Ellen Kelly answer questions about the first quarter tax bills and transparency of city finances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Councilor King has put an item on tonight&#8217;s City Council agenda to address the financial issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Please address why despite the reduction in the overall existing tax levy the administration decided to raise the estimate tax bills in the 1st quarter. My understanding of your projection is that given the reduction in the levy, even considering the valuation shift, the average bill will be seeing no increase,&#8221; wrote Councilor King to the City&#8217;s CFO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"510\" height=\"579\" src=\"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/13000.facebook.7.2020.source.house_.ad_.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15588\" srcset=\"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/13000.facebook.7.2020.source.house_.ad_.jpg 510w, https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/13000.facebook.7.2020.source.house_.ad_-264x300.jpg 264w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 510px) 100vw, 510px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Please update us on the deficit in water and sewer and how you intend to address it in FY 2021. When will the rates be set?,&#8221; wrote Councilor King.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Please explain why the City decided to non-renew its transparency software that put the checkbook and other city records online and made them accessible.
