FRAMINGHAM – A two-vehicle crash at Bethany Road and Winthrop Street this morning, June 29 after 8 a.m. resulted in a truck crashing through a stone wall at St. Tarcisius Cemetery and knocking down a headstone, according to Framingham Police Lt. Patricia Grigas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The crash is still under investigation and the report was not completed yet, said Lt. Grigas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The crash involved a Nissan sedan and a Mitsubishi truck, said Lt. Grigas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A street sign was knocked down, a vehicle went through a stone wall, and a headstone was damaged, she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were “significant injuries,” with that crash, said Framingham Fire Chief Mike Dutcher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The female in the sedan was transported to Framingham Union Hospital, said the chief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rescue 1 and ladder 3 were needed to extricate one of the two men in the truck, said Chief Dutcher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One man was transported to a Boston Hospital. The man extricated was taken to UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester, said Chief Dutcher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MWRTA was diverting its buses around the intersection this morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The intersection was recently approved for a 4-way stop sign and other improvements as it is one of the top 10 crash areas in the City. Work is not scheduled for the improvements until later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
