Our beloved Carmella Agostino Mitrano was born on August 4, 1930, in Arlington, Massachusetts, and from the very beginning she lived life with a big heart and a magnetic spirit. She graduated from Cambridge Latin High School and went on to build a long career she was proud of\u2014starting as a bank teller, moving up to Branch Manager, and later spending more than 20 years at Polaroid Corporation as Finance and Credit Manager.<\/p>\n
Carmella\u2019s greatest joy, though, was her family. She is survived by her three daughters, Denise Mitrano Trogdon (Ben) of Seattle, WA, Cynthia Marie Mitrano of Laguna Niguel, CA, and Nancy Jean Mitrano of Seattle, WA. She was the most loving \u201cNoni\u201d to her grandson, William Alexander Trogdon, who was truly the light of her life. Carmella is also survived by her sisters, Rose Marie Nolan and Linda Carceo, along with many nieces and nephews\u2014who will all tell you she was their favorite aunt.<\/p>\n
She is reunited in heaven with her parents, Anthony and Mary Carceo, and her sister, Virginia Carceo.<\/p>\n
Carmella had a way of making friends everywhere she went\u2014whether in her longtime home in Framingham, or later in Seattle and California, where her daughters lived. If you knew Carmella, you knew she loved to cook. Food was her love language, and she shared it with everyone who crossed her path\u2014family, friends, neighbors, doctors, nurses, her auto mechanic, the property staff at her apartment building. No one ever left her home hungry, and every meal was prepared with love. One of the highlights of her life was her appearance on The Martha Stewart Show<\/em>, where she proudly showed Martha how to make arancini balls.<\/p>\n To us, though, Carmella was so much more than her accomplishments. She was our mother, our sister, our Noni, our sister, our aunt, and our dear friend. Her warmth, laughter, and generosity filled every room she entered. Her love will live on in the recipes she passed down, the traditions she kept alive, and most of all, in the hearts of those she cherished.<\/p>\n Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Carmella\u2019s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Wednesday, September 3rd<\/sup> from 4-7PM.
