Joan E. (Craig) Schiavi, 83, of Framingham, MA passed away, surrounded by loved ones on June 22, 2023<\/p>\n
Joan is remembered by her loving family, including her son Robert Scott Thistle and Jo-Ann C. Schiavi as well as her grandchildren Christopher and Max Thistle and her great grandson Max.\u00a0 She also leaves her sister Marcia T. Mckenna and her husband Jim along with her loving nieces and nephews and many special family friends.<\/p>\n
She was predeceased by her loving husband Vincenzo \u201cJim\u201d Schiavi, her sister Ann Marie Cook, her brother William A Craig, and nephew Michael Mckenna.<\/p>\n
Joan was born on August 30, 1940, in Arlington, MA to John Craig and Rosanna Cunningham.\u00a0 She dedicated many years as an office manager at Saint Tarcisius Parish in Framingham.\u00a0 She also had a variety of management positions that spanned throughout the medical field in Framingham.<\/p>\n
She was quite the adventurer who enjoyed exploring quintessential New England towns and coastal communities.\u00a0 She loved seeking out Antique shops, Fairs, Museums, beaches, and especially unique pottery stores.\u00a0 Mattapoisett MA, Ogunquit ME and Vermont were among her favorite places to visit.<\/p>\n
Joan\u2019s wit and sense of humor made her the life of every party. \u00a0Family and friends always looked forward to her jokes and funny stories.\u00a0 An event was always more fun when Joan was there.\u00a0 She had a passion for animals, especially her dogs, who brought so much joy to her life.<\/p>\n
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to Cape Ann Animal Aid or an animal shelter of your choice.<\/p>\n
In keeping with her wishes, she will be celebrated privately by her family.<\/p>\n
