Phyllis R. Giardini, 95, a resident of Newton, died Friday, April 3, 2026 after a period of declining health. Born in West Roxbury, she was the daughter of the late Umberto & Mary Agnes (Sheetz) Giardini.
Phyllis was born and Boston and was a graduate of Hopkinton High School. She went on to graduate from the Deaconess School of Nursing and enjoyed her entire nursing career at the Deaconess Hospital, Boston primarily as a Head Floor Nurse.
Over the years, Phyllis travelled the world extensively. Hawaii was one of her favorite destinations. She was an active member of the Deaconess School of Nursing Alumni Association, helping to coordinate yearly reunions, maintain membership data, and coordinate financial information.
Phyllis is survived by her brother, Paul Giardini of Swanton, Ohio, many nieces and nephews, and her longtime friend, Judy Brazier.
Besides her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her siblings, Albert Giardini, Anna Manucci, and Ida Facchini.
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Phyllis’ life by gathering for her graveside services on Thursday morning April 9th in Edgell Grove Cemetery, 53 Grove St. Framingham at 11:30AM.
