Marguerite M. (Mercury) Tibbert, 87m a lifelong resident of Framingham, died Tuesday, March 31, 2026 after a period of declining health. Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale & Angela (Inglesi) Mercury, and the beloved wife of the late Francis X. Tibbert, FFD.
Raised and educated in Framingham, Marguerite spent most of her professional career as an administrative assistant, serving in roles with the Director of Nursing at Framingham Union Hospital, the Framingham Fire Department Chief, and as the Director of Religious Education at St. Bridget Parish, Archdiocese of Boston.
Marguerite had a passion for travelling. Most important to her was being with her community of friends, and true bliss came in the form of simply time well spent with family.
The definition of a matriarch, Marguerite is survived by her sons, Michael of Winthrop, David of South Carolina, F. Charles “Charlie” of Framingham, and Paul of Virginia, her daughter in law Linda of South Carolina, her 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, her siblings, Nancy Paglia & her husband Dr. Robert Paglia of Marlborough, Vincent Mercuri & his wife Michele of Southborough, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband Francis, Marquerite was predeceased by her son, Kevin, and her sisters, Patricia White and Elizabeth Henderson.
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Marguerite’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the Norton, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street, Framingham on Tuesday, April 7th from 4-7PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Bridget Church, 830 Worcester Rd. Framingham on Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will follow in St. Stephen Cemetery.
