Robert J. Briggs, 87, a lifelong resident of Framingham died Tuesday, March 24, 2026 after a period of declining health. Born in Framingham, he was the beloved son of the late Harry B. & Christine E. (MacDonald) Briggs, and the beloved husband for 65 years to the late Judith A. (Cantara) Briggs.
A graduate of Framingham High School, Bob served his country honorably in the United States Army. He worked for many years as a Truck Driver for an electrical supply company.
Bob was a family man who enjoyed fishing, watching baseball and football, and loved cooking Sunday dinner for the family. He spent many summer days at Hopkinton State Park with his wife and 6 daughters.
Bob was a proud member of the Framingham Eagles Club, Framingham Lodge of Elks, the AmVets and the VFW. A social guy by nature, happiness often came in the form of a game of Keno, and a cold beer.
Loving and caring, Bob’s family meant everything to him. He is survived by his daughters, Theresa Daily and her husband Leigh, Cheryl Edmunds & her partner Paul Dickie, Elizabeth Martin & her partner Mark Allen, Marlene Fabri & her husband Dana, and Kathleen Fraser & her husband Jeff, his grandchildren, Michael and John Dailey, Amanda and Zachary Leach, Stephen and Sara Martin, Courtney Doyle, Robbie, Andrew, and Kristen Connors, Hunter Fabri, Anthony and Chris Ludwig, and Skylier Frasher, his great grandchildren, Genevieve, Andrew, Wyatt, Wesley, Trace, Cillian, and Caleb, his sister, Marilyn Wilson, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife Judith, Bob was predeceased by his daughter, Roberta Connors, and his siblings, Harry, Francis, Freddie, Richard, Shirley, Patricia, Audrey and Arlene.
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Bob’s life by gathering for a time of visitation in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Monday morning April 6th from 9-10:45AM. His Funeral Service will begin at 11 o’clock. Interment will be private.
