Linda L. Chaput, 85, a longtime resident of Framingham, died suddenly on Saturday March 21, 2026. Born in Natick, she was the daughter of the late Omer T. & Marjorie (Eaton) Chaput.
Linda was an “Army Brat” and in the first 16 years of her life lived in 27 different homes. She graduated high school in Petersburg, VA, and that following summer the family settled in Framingham. She worked in retail her entire life, starting with Zayre, then Filene’s and following that, Macys and was there for more than 50 years. Linda loved her work and fellow employees.
Generous, good humored and quick with a laugh, Linda’s interests were varied. She loved to embroider, and a good murder mystery. She was completely involved with the British Royal Family, and followed them regularly. She held a special place in her heart for the MSCPA and their work. Linda enjoyed sending cards for any and all occasions and never missed sending one for every milestone, holiday, get well, for every family member and friend alike.
Above all else, Linda loved her family, she is survived by her siblings, Mary M. Daniels of Bellingham, Bruce A. Chaput & his wife Maria of Framingham, Mark M. Chaput of Framingham, Thomas L. Chaput & his wife Kathy S. Clapp of Holliston, and Anne E. Broadbent & her husband Jesse of VA, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Linda’s life by gathering for a time of visitation in St. Bridget Church, 830 Worcester Rd. Framingham on Saturday morning, March 28th from 9-10:45AM. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11 o’clock. Interment will be private.
