Mary Leonard, 84, of Framingham died peacefully on March 2, 2026, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Beloved wife of the late Peter Leonard of Framingham, and daughter of the late Michael and Mary Scorzello of Waltham, Mary is survived by: her daughter, Lisa Landa of Watertown; her son, Michael Leonard and his wife Heidi Ross Leonard of Salem; her grandchildren, Sophie Landa of Pittsfield, and Nate Leonard and Hannah Leonard of Salem; her sister, Faith Downing of Reading; her nieces, Tiffany Downing of Somerville, and Kristie Cotter and her husband George Cotter of London, England; her former son-in-law, Phil Landa of Pittsfield; her great-grand-dog, Leo; and many dear cousins, neighbors and friends.

Mary loved her family, fall foliage, crossword puzzles, scary movies, candy bars and the New England sports teams. She often devoured an entire bag of Brach’s Circus Peanuts while cheering on a Red Sox game. She looked forward to watching and singing along with “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and “Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Carol” during the holidays. She enjoyed rambling through a consignment shop, and cherished daily phone calls with her sister. But more than anything, Mary loved her grandchildren – delighting in their accomplishments, but simply being the happiest knowing that they were healthy and safe. She was deeply loved, and will be dearly missed.

Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Mary’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the Norton, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street, Framingham on Sunday afternoon March 8th from 1-4pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning March 9th, 10am at St. George Church, 74 School St., Framingham. Interment will follow in St. Stephen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the Tufts Medical Center Gynecologic Oncology department, in Boston.
