Sister Claire Arlene Morrissey, CSJ, (Sister Lawrence Marie) in the 72nd year as a beloved member of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston, died Sunday, January 4. 2026. Devoted daughter of the late Arthur L. and V. Theresa (Leahy) Morrissey, and beloved sister of the late Mary Morrissey, Margaret (Peggy) Morrissey and Theresa Myles. Sister Claire is survived by her other loving sisters, Florence (Flossie) Perry, her late husband, Robert, Anne Conceison, her husband Manuel, and Judith (Judy) Laverty, her husband, Charlie; along with her cherished nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, her dear friend, Brendalee Boisvert, CSM, and her Sisters in the Congregation, especially Sister Rosemary Brennan. Formerly missioned a registered nurse and director at Bethany Hospital, Framingham; Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse, Brighton; Administrative Assistant at Lahey Clinic, Burlington; Health Facilitator for Massachusetts Department of Health, Boston; Administrator at St. Joseph Retreat Center, Cohasset; school nurse at St. Tarcisus School, Framingham; Marian High School, Framingham; and school nurse at Mt. St. Joseph Academy, Brighton.
Visiting hours at Holy Family Chapel, Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse, 631 Cambridge Street, Brighton, MA, Tuesday, January 13, 2026, 9:15 to 10:00 a.m. Prayer Service at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass and Prayers of Final Commendation at the Motherhouse at 10:15 a.m. Burial will follow at St Patrick Cemetery, 180 Pond Street, Natick, MA.
