Kathy S. (Woodrum) Chase, 70, a lifelong resident of Framingham, died Wednesday, suddenly, December 24, 2025.  Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late John & Virginia (Norton) Woodrum, and the beloved wife and best friend of Michael R. Chase.

Raised and educated in Framingham, Kathy was a graduate of Framingham South High School in 1973 and went on to graduate from the Framingham Union School of Nursing in 1976. She enjoyed a more than 40 year career as a nurse at Framingham Union/Metrowest Hospital.

A proud cancer survivor, time spent with family and friends meant everything to Kathy. She enjoyed traveling to different ball parks to watch the Red Sox, playing card games, bowling and playing dominoes often with the same group of friends. She was an avid reader and did crossword puzzles. Kathy loved cousins “Circle of Love” weekends in Hampton, breakfast on Tuesdays with friends, and creating new friendships through Weight Watchers.

Fun to be around and easy to talk to, Thursday date nights with the love of her life Michael at TJ’s, sharing a meatloaf dinner brought Kathy joy.  She adored her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Always doing whatever she could to support them.  Concerts, plays, cross country meets, to texts just to tell them she was proud and loved them. She was the very definition of a matriarch.

Along with her husband, Michael, Kathy is survived by her children, Michelle Margeson & her wife Liz, Brian Chadwick, Laura Chase-Amara & her wife Janine, and Jennifer Hardy & her girlfriend Amber, her grandchildren, Jordan & her boyfriend Jared, Cameron & his fiancé Kayla, Julia, Xander & his fiancé Elijah, Jamie, Marcus, Zach, Tanya, Jordan, Callie, Davin, Jillian, and Charlotte, her great grandchildren, Emmett, Jariel, and Adeline, her siblings, Lorraine Wales & her longtime partner Mike, Lynda Thurston & her husband Richard, and John Woodrum & his wife Elizabeth,  her mother in law Helen, her sister in law Pam, and her brother in law, Charles & his wife Tamara, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Kathy was predeceased by her sister, Judith Deconing, brother in law Richard Wales, and her nephew, Michael Garvey.

Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Kathy’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the Norton, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 53 Beech St. Framingham on Friday, January 2nd from 4-8PM. Her Funeral Service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Saturday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Natick.
