Sharon Marie DiRico, 82, a resident of Framingham and Baldwinville, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, ten days after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Born in Gardner, MA, she was the daughter of the late Jesse H. and Frances C. (Hubbard) DiRico, and her late stepmother, Mary (McClure) DiRico.
Sharon was a graduate of Narragansett Regional High School, Class of 1961, and went on to work as a high-level executive secretary at Micro Switch, which later became Honeywell. She eventually moved to BAE Systems, from which she retired.
Kind and generous, Sharon lived her adult life with her beloved sister, Iris. She enjoyed her weekly walking group at the mall and summer vacations in Pemaquid, ME, with Iris and their friend Cindy. She and Iris traveled the world—Italy, France, Switzerland, Finland, Scandinavia, and the Caribbean. She was particularly proud of her Finnish and Italian heritage. Sharon was an Anglophile who loved everything about the Queen and the Royal Family and subscribed to Majesty Magazine for many years.
Sharon had a wonderful sense of humor and never took herself too seriously. Aside from Iris, her constant travel companion was a three-inch troll named “Fred,” who also maintained a spectacular mansion in Sharon’s bedroom. She enjoyed football and especially the head coach of the Patriots, Mike Vrabel. She loved her communities of Framingham and Baldwinville and enjoyed reminiscing about family and friends.
Sharon is survived by her stepsister, Mary Ann McClure of Orange; her stepbrothers, Eddie McClure and his wife, Linda, of Baldwinville, and Hayden McClure and his wife, Naomie, of Palmer, Alaska; and her cherished goddaughters, Cynthia Coffin of Hamilton, and Emily Gaffney and her husband, Luke, of Marblehead. She is also survived by several cousins, step-nieces, step-nephews, and many dear friends from near and far.
Besides her parents, Sharon was predeceased by her sister, Iris E. DiRico.
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Sharon’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the Norton, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 53 Beech St., Framingham, on Saturday, December 27th, from 12–3 PM. Her graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Baldwinville on Tuesday, December 30th at noon.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sharon’s name to Kaplan House in Danvers, MA. https://www.caredimensions.org/care-services/hospice-houses/kaplan-house
