Joseph Anthony Cahill, 67, of Foxborough and formerly Walpole, passed away December 7th, 2025, after a sudden illness. Joe is survived by his wife, Mary (Doherty), and his four children, Mairead and fiancé Jeremy Ritter-Wiseman of Washington, D.C.; John of Mesa Verde, CO; Bridget of Chicago, IL; and Neil of Pittsburgh, PA; of whom he was so proud and loved very much. Born to Helen (McDevitt) and Edward Cahill in Boston, Joe grew up in Framingham. He later lived in Walpole and Foxborough and worked for many years as an administrator at South Shore Hospital. In recent years, he devoted much of his time to volunteering at local food pantries. The product of an Irish-Catholic family that welcomed and encouraged everyone’s opinion at the table, he always enjoyed a conversation about solving the world’s problems. Joe loved planning trips with his family and friends to appreciate the beauty of this country and the world.

Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Joe’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Friday, December 12th from 4-8PM. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Bridget Church, 830 Worcester Road, Framingham on Saturday morning at 11AM. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Saint John’s Catholic Church and Food for the Poor Program at 20 Temple Street, Worcester, MA 01604, home parish of long-time friend Father John Madden.
