FRAMINGHAM – Framingham State University is proud to announce the Framingham State Tuition Promise, a bold new commitment ensuring that a high-quality public education is within reach for more students across Massachusetts.
Any admitted Massachusetts undergraduate student whose household income is $85,000 or less will pay $0 in tuition and fees to attend Framingham State. This does not include expenses like housing and meals, but additional financial aid is available for those who qualify.
“Framingham State was founded on the idea that education can change the course of a life,” says President Nancy S. Niemi. “The Framingham State Tuition Promise carries that legacy forward. By removing financial barriers for the families who need us most, we are creating a pathway for students to imagine a future that once felt out of reach.”
To be eligible for the Framingham State Tuition Promise, students must:
- Be a Massachusetts resident
- Have a household income of $85,000 or less
- Complete the FAFSA
- Start full-time, in an undergraduate degree program, at FSU in Spring or Fall 2026
The Framingham State Tuition Promise is intended to be simple, transparent, and designed for families. There are no extra hurdles to apply. Students simply submit their admissions application to Framingham State and complete their FAFSA, and they will be notified of their eligibility when they receive their financial aid offer.
Higher education is one of the most powerful pathways to a more secure and prosperous future and Framingham State believes it should be accessible to every qualified student, regardless of family income. A new study from George Washington University’s Center for Education and the Workforce shows that the typical worker with a four-year degree earns 70% higher pay than someone with only a high school diploma.
A college education doesn’t just boost earning potential, it strengthens communities. Graduates are more likely to vote, volunteer, support their children’s learning, and contribute to a healthier, more engaged society.
