Andrew James “Drew” Doyle, born on April 23, 1938, in New York City, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, in Wayland, Massachusetts. A longtime resident of Framingham, Franklin, and Naples, Florida.  He was 87 years old.

Raised and educated in Woodside, Queens in his beloved Boulevard Gardens, Drew was a graduate of Bryant High School in 1956. It’s also where he met the love of his life, Phyllis, and the two could be seen most weekends at a Sock Hop ripping up the dance floor.

Drew served proudly in the United States Army as an MP, where he learned the discipline and dedication that would serve him in both his life and career. He started his work life as a model where he could be seen as a Junior Marlboro Man on the back of TV Guide Magazine or in a NY newspaper for Dial Soap.  He also modeled for McGregor clothing where he was inspired to start a very successful 50 year career as a road salesman in the clothing business. He was passionate about sales, honing his skills and mentoring many. That career brought him to Framingham in the 60’s. He loved and was very proud of his home on Myrna Road, and he hosted many family gatherings and parties, where dancing in the living room became a thing.

His home for the last twenty years was spent in Naples, Florida, his “happy place.” There, he relished making connections and lifelong friendships with residents from all over the country. Sitting in his lanai, looking out onto the 8th hole, was both a source of pride and joy which he loved to share with others.

Drew was a devoted family man whose life was deeply rooted in love and connection. He shared many cherished years with his beloved wife, Phyllis Doyle, whose memory remained close to his heart following her passing in 2012. Drew was also preceded in death by his brother Donald Doyle and sister Dorothy Burke.

He leaves behind a loving family who will carry forward his legacy: his children JoAnn Soma, Donna O’Rourke (Kenny), Allison Lawler, and Drew Doyle (Sarah); grandchildren Ryan O’Rourke (Lynne), Kendra O’Rourke, Patrick Lawler (Renee), Stephanie Soma, Thomas O’Rourke, Julia Soma (Mark), Mia Soma, Charlie Doyle, and Caroline Doyle; as well as several great-grandchildren, many beloved nieces and nephews, and his sister in law, Beverly Calabrese. He also leaves behind his beloved companion, Patricia Lenihan, with whom he shared a wonderful, loving relationship.

Drew was a devout Catholic. His high moral character was a direct result of his faith which helped him through many of life’s challenges. An avid runner, he completed over 10 Marathons and often inspired many others to run their first!

Drew could simply light up a room with his smile and had a special gift of making everyone feel great about themselves. His positive energy was infectious.

Drew’s presence brought warmth and steadiness to those around him.  His life spanned decades of change and growth, yet he remained a constant source of strength for his family.  He left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew him.

May Drew’s memory bring comfort to all who loved him.
