It is with great sadness that the family of Maureen A. Duggan announces her passing on Friday, October 17th, 2025 at 63 years old. Maureen (“Moe”) was born on October 13,1962 in Framingham, Massachusetts to Peter Joseph and Rita (Marquis) Duggan.

Moe graduated from Framingham South High School in 1981 and went on to complete an accounting program at Katharine Gibbs College in Boston. Maureen accomplished so much, but her greatest pride in life was her son Michael.

Anyone who knew Moe knows how selfless she was. She loved people and animals with her whole heart and was always there when you needed her – period. A generous soul and spirit with an unforgettable laugh, Moe put a smile on all our faces, and was a beautiful and inspiringly positive human.

She had a remarkable career and spent the last 20 years at TJX, where she continued to bring her many skills – including her immense care and love of people – to a new level.

Moe loved to read novels, watch crime shows, and spend time with Michael and other loved ones. For years, Moe didn’t really cook. But once she started, she quickly became that person who brought meals to elderly neighbors on Sundays, sent Thanksgiving plates around to anyone who needed one, and invited people without family or plans to holiday meals. She was an exceptionally loved and valued person – at work, in the community, and in the family.

Moe was predeceased by her parents and her oldest sister, Cheryl Rose. She leaves behind her son, Michael Bresnahan (22); two sisters, Colleen Rigby and Mary Beth Duggan (Norman); her nieces and nephews, Jimmy and Joe (Jessica) Rose, Peter and Brett Fournier, and Janeen Gingrich; her “2nd Mom” Barbara Howland, as well as many close friends, neighbors, and colleagues.

One of Moe’s favorite songs captures her joyful spirit perfectly. Please send up a little love to her the next time you hear it:

“A long, long time ago/I can still remember how that music used to make me smile/And I knew if I had my chance/That I could make those people dance/And maybe they’d be happy for a while” ~ Don McLean

Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Moe’s life by gathering for a time of visitation in the Norton, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 53 Beech St. Framingham on Saturday afternoon, October 25th from 2-4PM. A celebration of her life will begin at 3PM.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that gifts be made to support the Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center at Brigham & Women’s Hospital. Checks can be made payable to “Brigham & Women’s Hospital” in memory of Maureen Duggan (in the memo) to: Development Office, 263 Huntington Avenue, #318, Boston, MA 02115-4506, or visit www.bwhgiving.org/memorial to make your gift in honor of her memory online.
