Mary E. “Betty” Gerard, 91, of Framingham died peacefully on October 19, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Molly (McGuiness) Gannon and Austin J. Gannon of Ireland.

Betty was educated at St. Mary’s Catholic High School in Milford. For nearly a decade she lived in Florida and moved back to Framingham where she and her husband settled and raised their three children at the family turkey farm.

She devoted most of her adult life to perfecting the secret family recipes you all know and love from Gerard’s Turkey Farm. During the summer months you could find her at Lake Winnipesaukee enjoying a 5 o’clock cocktail on the dock with friends, reading a good book, and playing cards.

Later in life Betty found her passion for dancing, traveling the globe, and going on countless cruises with her friends.  She was a talented ceramist, a master baker, and a skilled seamstress.

Betty is survived by her daughters Linda Monast and husband Joseph, of Attleboro, Karen McCullough of Framingham, and daughter-in-law Dale Gerard of Natick.  Betty was the loving grandmother of Crystal, Sara, and Joe Monast; Kristin and Michelle Gerard; Shannon and Timothy McCullough.  She was the proud great grandmother of Ashton Thomas and Penelope McCullough.

Betty is predeceased by her beloved husband of 39 years, Ransom “Ronnie” Gerard, her devoted son, Michael Gerard, and her siblings, Austin J. Gannon, Jr., Thomas P. Gannon, and Arthur J. Gannon.

The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff who took excellent care of Betty at Framingham Union CVU and during her final days at The Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence in Wayland.

Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Betty’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Monday, October 27th from 4-7PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Bridget Church, 830 Worcester Road, Framingham on Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock.  Interment will follow in Edgell Grove Cemetery, Framingham.
