Darlene F. (Shea) MacKeil, 62, a longtime resident of Framingham, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer, and surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born in Natick, she was the daughter of Sandra J. Desveaux, and the late George J. Shea, and the beloved wife of Wayne MacKeil.
Darlene was raised and educated in Natick, and went on to enjoy a 40 year career with Leonard Morse Hospital and later Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham. Kind and sweet, Darlene filled every room and every space she occupied with laughter, love, smiles and fun. She was the head of the fun committee and the family compass. Holidays and celebrations were always extra special, and Darlene was often on the end of a camera lens at every event capturing all the special moments.
Darlene loved her cats, and enjoyed the smaller things in life, watching General Hospital which she had done since she was a child. Trips to Green Harbor Beach, which was her favorite, and an ice cold Pepsi maybe with a devil dog brought her happiness.
Darlene’s family was her universe. Along with her husband Wayne, she is survived by her son, Brendan & his wife Victoria, her granddog, Kayden, her siblings, Kevin Shea & his wife Heidi, Keith Shea, Jacqueline Murphy & her husband Joe, and Deborah Shea Fede. She was the proud and loving Auntie Darl to many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Darlene’s life by gathering for a time of visitation in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Saturday, October 18th from 1-3PM. Followed by a memorial service in the funeral home beginning at 3PM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Darlene’s name to: Cops for Kids with Cancer, https://copsforkidswithcancer.org
