On Sunday, July 27, Jenna Yazdani, an Eagle Scout candidate, hosted a high-energy bootcamp fundraiser at CrossFit TILT in Sudbury—and the community showed up in a big way. The event drew 15 Cross Fitters of all ages and raised $385, bringing Jenna’s fundraising total to $2,200 out of her $2,500 goal for her Eagle Scout service project with local nonprofit SMILE Mass.
Jenna’s project involves building a dedicated storage shed to house SMILE Mass’s critical adaptive equipment—racing chairs, floating beach wheelchairs, and other items that empower individuals with disabilities to live active, healthy lives. The shed will ensure equipment is protected, organized, and ready for use by families across New England.
“It was amazing to see so many people come out and support something bigger than themselves,” said Jenna Yazdani. “This project is about building more than just a shed—it’s about building opportunities for everyone to experience joy and inclusion.”
SMILE Mass (Small Miracles in Life Exist) serves over 30,000 families and provides free access to adapted equipment through its extensive loaner program. For families raising children and adults with disabilities, this program can be life-changing—and Jenna’s project will help sustain and expand its reach.
“Jenna has shown exceptional leadership and heart through this project,” said Lotte Diomede, Founder and President of SMILE Mass. “The success of her fundraiser at CrossFit TILT is a beautiful example of community action. Every dollar raised will make a tangible difference in the lives of the families we serve.”
While Jenna is closing in on her goal, support is still needed to fully fund the project. Anyone who would like to donate can visit her fundraising page at: https://givebutter.com/PLDWqW
