Luz A. Sanchez, 96, a longtime resident of Framingham, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on Thursday May 22, 2025 after a short period of declining health. Born in Callo, Peru, she was the daughter of the late Guillermo Thomburne & Felicita Montes De Oca, and the beloved wife of the late Guillermo Sanchez Talledo.
Luz was raised in Peru and immigrated to the US in 1970 settling in Framingham with her family. She worked diligently in various manufacturing roles and for more than 25 years at Fenwal Electronics. She loved to dance, was a skilled cook, and enjoyed a lifelong friendship with the Sons of Mary Missionary Society in Framingham.
Nothing made Luz happier than spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren and the many friends she made over the years. She loved having her family and friends gathered in her home, where she would cook for them with love and joy. She is survived by her children, Willy Sanchez & his wife Aixa Borrero-Sanchez, Violet Hinojosa & her husband Victor, and Carol Sanchez-Novak & her husband Gene Novak, her grandchildren Allan Hinojosa & his wife Anumeha Srivastava, Lorena Sanchez & her husband Bruno Rodriguez, Steven Hinojosa, Alexa Sanchez, Liam Novak & his wife Denise, Kailee Novak, Daniela Sanchez, and Nikolai Novak, her great grandchildren, Caetano, Camila, and her sister, Ada Salinas Thomburne.
Family and friends will honor and remember Luz’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Tuesday, May 27th from 4-8PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday morning in St. Stephen Church, 221 Concord St. Framingham at 10 o’clock. Interment will be private.
