Mary Elizabeth Jost, 98, of Framingham, MA passed away from pancreatic cancer in Falmouth, MA on the morning of April 2, 2025.

Betty was born in Needham, MA, to Rudolph A. Gerstner and Caroline E. Walton. She was predeceased by her husband Dana N. Jost to whom she was married for 71 years, her daughter Deborah L. Mister, and her son Robert D. Jost, and her brother Rudolph (Barbara) Gerstner of Harwinton, CT.

She is survived by her son David (Donna-Jean) Jost of Falmouth, her grandson Christopher Jost of Hopkinton, and her granddaughter Katrina (Andrew) DiCristina of Framingham, and brother-in-law Philip (Martha) Claxton of Cherry Hill, NJ.

Prior to retirement, Betty worked as a teacher/aide at Joseph P. Keefe Technical High School. While residing in Framingham, she was active in the Civic League Players and the League of Women Voters. She was also an active member of The Plymouth Church in Framingham where she served as clerk and on many committees.

Betty and Dana were active gardeners. They were known for developing and caring for the Garden of Hope, located behind the Cancer Care Center at Metrowest Hospital in Framingham.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday, April 8th at 11:00am at the Plymouth Church, 87 Edgell Road, Framingham. Burial will be private.
