Kay M. Gomez-Debrosse, 67, a longtime resident of Natick died Thursday, March 20, 2025, after a period of declining health. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Charles R. Gomez & Dorothy Gomez Thompson.
Kay was raised and educated in the Roxbury and Dorchester neighborhoods of Boston, and a proud graduate of Northeastern University. She spent her career working with and advocating for children. Though she had her own kids, she was known as “Mom” to many, and referred to as Mrs. Kay in public as Mom was too generic a term in a public place. There wasn’t anyone who didn’t know her personally, or heard a story about her, once you met Kay you knew who she was.
Kay enjoyed listening to Motown music, and the outdoors. She loved hiking, kayaking, and river rafting. Before work and play, however, her family was her priority.
Kay is survived by her children, her sons, Jamal & his wife Jaime, Craig, Brian & his wife Sandra, her daughters, Kayla, Tatiana, and April, her grandchildren, her sister, Kim, her brother, Steven, big sister, Cay Deans, God daughter, Torina Sands, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Kay was predeceased by her sister, Donna
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Kay’s life by gathering for a time of visitation in the Norton, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street, Framingham on Saturday April 5th from 1- 2:30PM. A prayer service will begin at 3PM. Interment will be private.
