Sudbury MA – SMILE Mass (Small Miracles in Life Exist) is excited to announce its First Annual Charity Golf Tournament, taking place on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Red Tail Golf Club in Devens, MA. This inaugural event invites golfers, community leaders, and businesses to join in a day of fun, networking, and philanthropy—all in support of SMILE Mass’s mission to enhance the lives of individuals with disabilities.

SMILE Mass is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families raising children and adults with disabilities experience joyful, barrier-free lives through education, recreation, and vacation programs. The Metrowest-based charity serves families throughout Massachusetts through programs focused on enhancing the lives of people with severe disabilities and their families.

This one-of-a-kind tournament is set on the stunning greens of Red Tail Golf Club, one of New England’s premier golf destinations. Named after the majestic red-tailed hawks that soar above, Red Tail Golf Club is known for its breathtaking landscapes, championship-caliber course, and commitment to delivering an exceptional experience to golfers of all levels.

Reesa Morabito, SMILE Mass Chief Development Officer and co-organizer of the event is thrilled with the enthusiastic response as planning for the event continues. “There may still be snow on the ground, but golfers are already looking ahead to spring. The excitement around this tournament has been incredible, with corporate sponsors, in-kind donors, and golfers eager to support such a meaningful cause. We’re confident this will be the first of many successful SMILE Mass tournaments, and we can’t wait to bring the community together for a great day on the course.”

A Day on the Course with a Purpose

Participants will enjoy a full day of golf, camaraderie, and competition. We kick off the day with breakfast and welcome, followed by a shotgun start at 9:15 a.m. The event concludes with a luncheon reception, awards ceremony, and an inspiring program showcasing the impact of SMILE Mass.

Why Support SMILE Mass?

Funds raised from the tournament will directly benefit:

  • Club SMILE Mass – Our adaptive gym, swim, and social programs designed to foster movement, independence, and community.
  • Our Accessible Beach House in Wellfleet, MA – Recently purchased and undergoing renovations to become a fully adaptive vacation rental for families with disabilities.
  • The SMILE Mass Capital Campaign – Supporting our vision to purchase and develop a permanent home for Club SMILE Mass, creating an accessible and inclusive hub for recreation and support services.
  • The SMILE Mass Adaptive Equipment Loaner Program – Providing families with free access to specialized adaptive equipment, including beach wheelchairs, adaptive bikes, jogging strollers, and more. This program ensures that families can enjoy outdoor activities without the financial burden of purchasing expensive equipment.

SMILE Mass president Lotte Diomede, who co-founded the organization more than 16 years ago, shared the message that inspires her every day to create life-enhancing opportunities for families raising children and adults with disabilities.  “At SMILE Mass, we believe every family should have the opportunity to create joyful memories, regardless of ability. With the support of our incredible community, we are breaking down barriers and building a more inclusive world—one family at a time.”
