Massachustts Governor Maura Healey has appointed MassBay Community College distinguished alumna, Rebecca Negreli of Sudbury, MA, to the MassBay Board of Trustees.
Negreli, a 2019 MassBay graduate, earned an Associate of Arts in Business before completing a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a focus on social justice and a master’s degree in diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice at Tufts University.
Negreli currently works as the career development and internship manager at the nonprofit organization, Vinfen. In her role, she helps employees achieve career goals by identifying education growth opportunities and recruiting new talent, offering students hands-on internship experiences. As an advocate for education equity, Negreli collaborates with pro-immigrant groups to support the Tuition Equity Act, which seeks fair access to higher education for all, regardless of immigration status.
While a student at MassBay, Negreli served as the College’s student trustee and international club’s vice president, and was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society for academic achievement. She also received the Student Leadership Award at the MassBay Impact Awards.
Sworn in as a Board of Trustees member on January 27, 2025, Negreli attended her first meeting on February 4, 2025. She succeeds Mykael Prytel as the Appointed Alumni Trustee.
