Gail was born in Hartford, CT on September 3, 1937 to Edward and Loretta Coughlin. She was a graduate of St. Francis Hospital Nursing School in Hartford and later moved to MA where she practiced as a registered nurse in Boston, Cape Cod, and Framingham. In 1960 Gail met her husband Frank and eventually moved to Framingham where they resided for over 50 years.
Gail was a devoted Catholic and woman of deep faith. Her faith was the foundation of her life, motivating all her values and actions. She was very active in her church where she taught Religious Ed, Bible Study, and marriage preparatory classes and served as a Eucharistic Minister, bringing the Eucharist to nursing homes and the housebound. She was also active in Pro-Life ministry, working as a pregnancy crisis counselor for the Archdiocese of Boston.
Gail loved doing artwork and enjoyed the outdoors, going to the Cape, the ocean, shell collecting, swimming and reading. She was a talented artist, specializing in oil & watercolor painting who studied under Roger William Curtis and Betty Lou Schlemm and at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Hartford and Framingham art museums.
Her greatest joys in life were her family, faith and her parish activities and friends. But her greatest love was always her best friend and husband of 62 years, Frank.
Gail’s kind heart, warmth, and service to her faith touched the lives of many and she will be remembered for her joy for life, playful sense of humor, laughter, and support & devotion to her family and friends.
