Marianna (Ventola) Hynes, age 91, passed away February 14, 2025 at the Bethany Health Care Center in Framingham after a long illness. She was born in Boston in 1934 and raised in Boston’s North End. She was a long-time resident of Brighton, MA and Hudson, NH. Marianna was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Presentation Parish in Brighton and served for many years as the President of the Ladies Sodality.
She was the devoted wife of the late Francis L. “Mickey” Hynes for more than 57 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Antonio and Marianna (DeMarco) Ventola, originally from Avellino, Italy; and her siblings, Carmela Corrente, Angelo Ventola, Armando Ventola, Dante Ventola, Carmen Ventola, Frank Ventola, Dominic Ventola, Yolanda Gandolfo and Margarita Ferullo.
Marianna is survived by her children: John Hynes and his wife Deborah, Kenneth Hynes and his wife Jacqueline, Gary Hynes and his wife Teri, Mary McCluskey and her husband John, Frank Hynes and his wife Diane, and Karen Kane and her husband Michael. Additionally, she is survived by 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Maureen Kilgallon, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday, February 18th, 2025 from 5:00-8:00pm at the Norton, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street, Framingham. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, February 19th at 11:00am in the Bethany Health Care Center Chapel, 97 Bethany Road, Framingham. Due to the recent Department of Health recommendations, masking is required/strongly encouraged at the funeral Mass at Bethany Chapel. Interment in the MA National Cemetery, Bourne, is private.
