Marion B. Vivian passed away peacefully and with loving family by her side on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at St Patrick’s Manor in Framingham. She was 97 years old, just 4 months shy of her 98th birthday.
She had only recently moved to St Patrick’s in early December after living at The Branches of Framingham for the last five years. In fact, she was proud to have been the very first resident to move into The Branches when it opened back in 2020. Her family fondly remembers her being a participant at the ribbon cutting ceremony alongside the Mayor of Framingham and CEO of Benchmark Senior Living.
Born and raised in Somerville, MA on May 20, 1927 to Frank and Eva (Banfield) Julien, Marion was one of five children. She married Gordon Vivian in 1948 and after raising their family in Andover MA, she re-entered the workforce and spent twenty years with New England Telephone and Telegraph, mostly as a Customer Service Instructor. Following their retirement, she and her husband of sixty-five years moved to New Seabury on Cape Cod, then later to Conway, SC before she returned to Massachusetts following Gordon’s death in 2013.
Marion was happiest when surrounded by her family. She was a devoted wife, a terrific mother to her three sons, and so loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She left each of them with wonderful memories that will not be forgotten. Many at The Branches of Framingham and St Patrick’s commented on her warm personality, her kindness, and appreciation of others.
Marion is survived by her three sons, Gary and his wife Marianne of Framingham; Scott of Myrtle Beach, SC; and David and his wife Deborah of Amesbury, MA. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Tyler Vivian and his wife Jaime, Kate Martinsen and her husband Erik, Lauren Gillette and her husband Ryan, and Lindsay Vivian, along with seven great grandchildren including Avery, Mae, Reese, Brody, Lilly, Colin and Maggie. She was preceded in death by her four siblings Donald, Frank, Barbara and Ronald.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date at the family plot in Arlington, MA.
