Chris Teachout of Medfield, MA has been selected to join the MassBay Community College Foundation Board. Teachout began his three-year term in November 2024 and attended his first Foundation Board meeting on November 20.
The MassBay Foundation Board enhances the vitality of the College by promoting investment from external sources, growing the endowment, awarding scholarships, and creating partnerships for learning. The Foundation aims to be a catalyst for transforming the College by supporting educational excellence and student achievement.
“As a proud MassBay alumnus, I recognize the significant value of a MassBay education, and I’m honored to have been selected to serve on the MassBay Community College Foundation Board,” said Teachout. “I am eager to contribute and support the Foundation with fundraising goals and strengthening community connections.”
Teachout currently serves as Vice President – Business Banking Officer at Dedham Savings, where he is responsible for developing new relationships and expanding the Bank’s commercial deposit base. Prior to joining Dedham Savings, he held similar roles at other financial institutions. Teachout holds an Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from MassBay and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Westfield State University, and he completed the New England School for Financial Studies Program, an intensive two-year curriculum designed to broaden banking professionals’ skills and equip them with the tools necessary to manage effectively in today’s evolving financial landscape.
“We are delighted to welcome Mr. Teachout to the Board,” said MassBay Vice President of Advancement, Marketing, and Communications Jeremy Solomon, also a Medfield resident. “His expertise in building community relationships and his strategic fundraising insights will help further the Board’s important efforts to support current and future MassBay students. The work of our Foundation Board is often the difference between someone staying in school and achieving a sustainable career, or dropping out and facing an uncertain future. Mr. Teachout understands that, given his personal experience as a former student. I am confident his contributions to the Board will be lasting and impactful, and we’re grateful that someone of his caliber has agreed to join our cause.”
Teachout is an active member of the Advisory Board of the Beth Isreal Deaconess Hospital – Needham and the Needham Exchange Club, and a former Chair for the Newton Needham Chamber of Commerce. He resides in Medfield with his wife and their three children.
