Romeo ‘Buddy’ Pendolari of Framingham, died peacefully at his home Monday, December 30, 2024. He was 98 years old.
Romeo was the owner of Pendolari Liquors in Framingham, where he worked alongside his family for many years. He also served for more than 25 years on the board of directors of the Framingham Savings Bank and MetroWest Bank. Romeo was married to the late Helen ‘Betty’ (Bond) Pendolari. He was the son of the late Romeo Pendolari Sr. and Alena (Boudreau) Pendolari. Romeo was also the brother of the late Irene McCarthy of Southbourgh, the late Dennis Pendolari of Marstons Mills, and the late Roberta Golden Poulos of Framingham. Romeo leaves behind three children, John Pendolari of Florida, Stephen Pendolari of Framingham, and Beth Sarbacker of Pepperell. In addition, Romeo leaves behind four grandchildren, Jennifer Dehestani of Texas, Jason Sarbacker of Natick, Ian Sarbacker of Pepperrel and Jeffery Sarbacker of Ashby. He was also very proud of his eight loving great grandchildren.
Romeo graduated from Holy Cross College after his service in the Army Air Corps in WWII. He was a quiet, gentle, spiritual man who married his wife in 1950. Together they shared the same values and passed them to their children for more than 40 years. While set in his ways at times, the twinkle in his eye always showed the love in his heart. Romeo’s family also included many animals, from dogs and cats, to a Shetland pony that lived in his back yard. In his later years, he was never seen without one of his beloved Jack Russell Terriers.
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Romeo’s life by celebrating his funeral mass on Tuesday morning, January 7th in St. Bridget Church, 830 Worcester Rd. Framingham at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow in St. Stephen Cemetery, Framingham.
