Each year, NCMPR hosts regional conferences in the fall for its seven districts and a national conference in the spring. District 1 includes MassBay, along with other two-year community and technical colleges from Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Quebec, and the United Kingdom.

MassBay Associate Director of Public Relations Liz Cooper was awarded the Communicator of the Year award for NCMPR District 1 at the conference. The Communicator of the Year award is one of the most prestigious awards presented to an NCMPR member who has demonstrated leadership and success in the area of college communications, and is awarded to a marketing and communication professional at a two-year community or technical college, whose efforts effectively and positively position a college firmly in the public consciousness.

“We are delighted to be recognized for the work of our outstanding marketing team at MassBay,” said Jeremy Solomon, Vice President for Institutional Advancement, Marketing & Communications. “The Medallion Awards recognize the best work in our field, and our team is grateful to NCMPR for these honors. Our team is high-performing, always striving for new ways to promote our college and support our students in their higher education journey.”

The Marketing & Communications team at MassBay is comprised of Solomon, Cooper, Marketing Project Manager Deni Budd, Web Developer Wendy Walsh, Graphic Designer Nate Principato, and Marketing Content Strategist Ashanty Valentin.

The NCMPR District 1 conference centered around a series of workshops and breakout sessions for marketing and communications professionals working at two-year colleges to help them enhance innovation and increase creativity in their fields of marketing, public relations, media relations, graphic design, and website design.
