December is a festive month. It may be full of gatherings with family and friends. December is also a time when respiratory viruses are circulating in our communities.

  • How can you and your family and friends stay healthy this holiday season?
Staying up to date with your flu and COVID-19 vaccines can help you, your family, and friends ring in a healthy New Year. If you are pregnant or age 60 and older, you also may be eligible for the RSV vaccine. There are also options to increase protection of infants and toddlers from RSV. If you have questions about these, please ask your care team.

The CDC has information about preventing getting sick from the fluCOVID-19, and RSV.

  • What should I do if I have respiratory symptoms this season?
What you need to do will depend on your symptoms. If you have moderate symptoms, you can contact your primary care team to schedule an appointment
  • Can I order more COVID-19 tests to prepare my household?
As of late September 2024, residential households in the U.S. can order four home rapid antigen COVID-19 tests for free. There is a limit of one order per address. You can order these tests online.
