Sister Ernestine Quealy, CSJ, in her 81st year as a beloved member of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston, died Thursday, December 5, 2024. Devoted daughter of John and Bridget (Meade) Quealy and loving sister of the late John Quealy, Thomas Quealy, Vincent Quealy, Lawrence Quealy, Theresa Lombardozzi, and Brendan Quealy. Survived by her many cherished nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and her Sisters in the Congregation. Formerly missioned as Superior at St. Raphael School, Medford; a teacher at Holy Family School, Rockland; St. Gabriel School, Brighton; Jackson School, Newton; St. John School, North End; St. Joseph School, Medford; and St. Catherine School, Charlestown. Sister Ernestine served as CCD Director and Parish Minister at Our Lady of Good Voyage, Gloucester; and Parish Minister at St. Luke Parish, Belmont. In retirement, she volunteered at Newton Wellesley Hospital as a presence to the women patients in the Radiology Department.

Visiting hours at Holy Family Chapel, Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse, 631 Cambridge Street, Brighton, MA, Wednesday, December 11, 2024, 9:15 to 10:00 a.m. Prayer Service at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass and Prayers of Final Commendation at the Motherhouse at 10:15 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, 180 Pond Street, Natick, MA.
