FRAMINGHAM – In preparation for the full closure of Route 9, in both directions this weekend, MassDOT will have lane closures on Route 9 both Eastbound and Westbound Monday night, November 4 into Tuesday, November 5.
The left lane on Route 9, both Eastbound and Westbound, starting tonight, November 4 at 8 p.m., and is expected to re-open on Tuesday, November 5 at 5 a.m.
The closure is to allow a MassDOT contractor to open a portion of the median on the State highway.
The median break will be located just east of Winter Street (at the driveways for AL Prime on the Westbound side and #1094 Worcester Road on the Eastbound side).
Opening the median break, a suggestion of the Framingham Mayor, will allow businesses on Route 9 to stay open during the closure of the road between Temple Street and Maynard Road this weekend.
CSX needs to make emergency repairs of its tracks across Route 9. CSX said it is under a federal order to make the repairs ASAP.
MassDOT, which oversees Route 9, has issued a permit to close the state highway from 8 p.m. Saturday, November 9 to about noon on Sunday, November 10.
Detours will be in effect during the full closure of Route 9 in both directions this weekend.
