Evelyn J. (O’Leary) McGuirk, 91, a lifelong resident of Framingham, died Friday October 25, 2024, after a period of declining health. She was the daughter of the late Daisy (Adams) and Kenneth O’Leary, and her step father, the late Woodrow Langley, and the beloved wife of the late Alexander McGuirk.
Raised and educated in Framingham, family, friends, and faith were Evelyn’s priority. She worked for many years at Woolworth’s, and much of her time consisted of being involved in her church in various ways. She loved to knit and bake, often bringing her baked goods to church to share with the congregation. Evelyn liked to bowl and traveling always made her happy. Spending time at the Callahan Senior Center in her later years brought her great joy.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Daniel McGuirk & his wife Donna of Avon, and Diana D. Williams & her husband Michael of Somersworth, NH, her grandchildren, Jessica Wingender & her husband Greg of VA, Andrew Williams of VT, and Corrine DePatra, of Boston, MA., her brothers in law, Earl of CA, and Charles & his wife Helen of AZ, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her siblings, Marilyn Jellison, Marcia Schneider & her husband Alan, and Paul Langley & his wife Patricia.
Family and friends will honor and remember Evelyn’s life by gathering for a time of visitation in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Saturday morning, November 16th beginning at 10:30 AM. Her Funeral Services will follow in the funeral Home at 11:30. Interment will take place privately at MA National Cemetery.
