Edith A. (DeGagne) Miner, 92, a longtime resident of Framingham, died Thursday, October 31, 2024 after a period of declining health. Born in Methuen, she was the daughter of the late Odilon & Jeannette (Gaumond) DeGagne, and the beloved wife of the late Donald M. Miner.
Edith was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Lawrence and went on to attend Aquinas Junior College and later took business courses at Merrimac College. She worked at John Hancock in Boston before retiring as an administrative assistant in the Counseling Dept. at Framingham State.
Edith was a quiet and reserved women of deep Catholic faith. She had a pleasant and charitable nature which suited her well in her roles at St. Bridget Parish as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and Catechist. She and Don where lucky enough to travel the world together from the Holy Land, to Egypt, Europe and South America.
Edith is survived by her children Stephen M. & his wife Joanne of St. Augustine, FL, Cheryl A. Smith & her husband John of Shrewsbury, and Brian D. of Framingham, her grandchildren, Christine & her fiancé Joseph Homsey, Nathanael Smith, and Alicia Smith, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband Don, and her parents, Edith was predeceased by her brothers Ronald, Norman, Russell and Paul DeGagne.
Family and friends will honor and remember Edith’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Wednesday, November 6th from 9-10:30 AM. Her Funeral Mass will follow in Saint Stephen Parish, 221 Concord St. Framingham at 11 o’clock. Interment in Edgell Grove Cemetery, Framingham.
