Mary Elizabeth (Orton) Kittredge, 84, of Holliston, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024, after a long illness. Mary was born on September 3, 1940, to Samuel Durnford Orton and Elizabeth Ann (Jamieson) Orton in Framingham, Massachusetts.
After Mary graduated from Framingham North High School in 1958, she went on to study elementary education at Framingham State College. After graduation, she taught the fourth grade for the Framingham public schools, was a homemaker and mother, and was a familiar deli clerk for Roche Brothers supermarket in Natick.
In retirement, Mary and Tom traveled extensively, enjoyed gardening, and took care of elderly relatives. Mary’s creativity was evident in everything she did, including scrapbooking various trips, baking and decorating cakes, making home improvements, and presenting the deli case at the market.
Mary is survived by her husband of 58 years, Thomas Kittredge of Holliston, and her two children, Marcia Kittredge of Framingham and Peter Kittredge of Chelmsford. She was predeceased by her parents and siblings, Dorothy Orton of Framingham, Edmund Orton of Framingham, and Robert Orton of Milford.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 8th at 11:00 a.m. at Lake Grove Cemetery in Holliston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of their choice.
