John J. Schaefer, age 84, a longtime resident of Framingham, passed away Sunday, October 13 2024, after a period of declining health. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the beloved son of the late Jacob & Margaret (McKenna) Schaefer.
John was a member of Marian High School’s first graduating class of 1960 and was en employee of Morgan Memorial/ Goodwill Industries.
A devout Catholic, John was a well known parishioner of St. Stephen’s Church , where he served on several committees ( Prayer Group, Pro Life, St. Vincent DePaul) with English and Spanish speaking members. He was a former member of the Framingham Human Relations Commission.
Family and friends will honor and remember John’s life by celebrating his Funeral Mass on Monday morning, October 21st in St. Stephen Church, 221 Concord St. Framingham at 10 o’clock. Interment will take place in The Evergreens Cemetery, Brooklyn , NY on Tuesday morning.
