It is with deep heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Roy M. Correia, 58 of Charlton, and formerly of Framingham, who passed away peacefully at his home, on Friday, September 27, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Roy was born on March 19, 1966, in Lisbon, Portugal. He is of Portuguese descent, and came to the U.S with his immigrant family when he was 3 years old. He officially became a U.S. citizen, where he was featured in a U.S Citizenship documentary on HBO in Boston.

Roy graduated from Joseph P. Keefe Technical High School in Framingham in 1984, mastering the trade of Electronics, where he was at the top of his class. He also worked for the Ashland DPW, as a Deputy Director of Operations, for 22 years in Ashland, and 8 years prior within the Water Department Division in Framingham.

Roy will always be remembered for his warm giving heart, his genuine kindness, hard work, and impeccable work ethic, as well as his gift to make everyone around him laugh, whenever they were in his presence. He was devoted to his cherished wife Angel, family and many numerous close friends who filled his heart with so much love. Roy touched many countless lives, as there wasn’t anyone he would not help in their time of need. He would give you the shirt off his back, if it meant he was helping someone, whether he knew them or not. Roy also loved spending time with his sweet granddaughter Elowyn Newell whom he lovingly adored.

Roy had a deep passion and fondness for farming and loved taking care of the many animals he had on his Joyful Farm in Charlton, MA. He devoted much of his time tending to the many animals on his farm, as well as enjoying camping, fishing, reading, working on his puzzles, and watching all his cartoons, (especially his beloved Simpsons and Family Guy). One of Roy’s many greatest joys were when he took several family vacations to Portugal, Niagara Falls, New York City, New Jersey and Washington, D.C. as well as many countless birthday celebrations and holiday get togethers. His deep sense of heartfelt love for his family was always mentioned to everyone he encountered. He had a very special bond with his nephew Jeff Correia, who he cherished deeply, as he was like a son to him. His deep desire to take care of everything and everyone was always apparent to everyone who knew him. His special closeness and love for his older brother Jose (Joe) Correia and his little sister Lucy (Correia) Blackwood, was an indescribable bond that they all shared. Roy had the gift to gab and a wonderful quirky sense of humor, that everyone always enjoyed being around as it made their days better.

Roy had a beautiful zest for life and one that will be cherished forever, as he touched so many lives. We will always carry Roy’s memory forever within our hearts.

Roy married Angel (Fields) Correia on July 20, 2021, in a small intimate ceremony at his Joyful Farm in Charlton, MA. He enjoyed and dedicated spending time with his wife Angel, together on the farm in Charton.

He is survived by his loving and beloved wife, Angel (Fields) Correia of Charlton, his parents, Mario and Maria Correia of Framingham, his daughter, Caitlin Correia of Holliston, his older brother, Jose “Joe” Correia and his wife Paula of Milford, and his younger sister, Lucy (Correia) Blackwood and her husband Doug of Framingham.
