September is National Suicide Prevention Month – a time to remember the lives lost to suicide, acknowledge the millions more who have experienced suicidal thoughts, and the many individuals, families, and communities that have been impacted by suicide. This past weekend, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention held an Out of the Darkness Community Walk at Natick Common. The walk is in support of community friends and family who have lost a loved one to suicide. To honor everyone who has been affected by mental illness, MetroWest formed a team and participated in the Walk. Staff walked to raise awareness, to foster understanding, and to tell those who are suffering that it’s okay to ask for help.
