Robert Scott Thistle (Scooter), age 64, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2024, under hospital care in Framingham, Massachusetts.
Robert was born on August 19, 1960, in Framingham, Massachusetts, to Robert and Joan Thistle. He was a distinguished veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1977 to 1983 with the 2nd Marine Division and 1st Marine Division in the Assault Amphibian Battalions.
After leaving the Marine Corps, Robert spent 35 years as a master carpenter. He had a deep love for German Shepherds, motorcycles, cars, and cherished working in the shop with his sons. Known for his bold and genuine personality, he brought a wild sense of humor to everyone around him.
Robert is survived by his sons, Christopher and Scott; his grandson, Max, in the Netherlands; his sister, Jo-Ann Schiavi; and his aunt, Marcia McKenna. He was preceded in death by his parents and his cousin, Michael McKenna.
A private military memorial service will be held in Massachusetts.
Robert will be remembered for the humor and commentary he shared with those around him. His legacy will live on through his sons and grandson.
