Richard A. “Rick” Fontaine, age 69, a longtime resident of Framingham, passed away unexpectedly at Tufts Medical Center on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. Born in Lowell on July 4, 1955, he was the son of the late Donald & Gertrude (Proulx) (Fontaine) Lampron, and the beloved husband of Donna (Stucchi) Fontaine.
Rick was raised and educated in Lowell, and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School. After two years of technical training, he enjoyed a 18 year career with Prime Computer, and later as a repair supervisor at Scitex America Corp.
He had an easy-going nature and was extremely smart, particular with technology and electronics, and could repair anything. An outdoorsman at heart, he enjoyed camping, hiking, and traveling.
In addition to his wife, Rick is survived by his son Neiko J.P. Fontaine of Dorchester, as well as his siblings, Jeannine Dufour & her husband Robert of Lowell, Armand Fontaine and his late wife Barbara of Tewksbury, Suzanne Maio and her late husband Daniel of Merrimack, NH, Michelle LaRose & her husband Robert of Pelham, NH and Annette Michaud & her husband Ronald of Derry, NH, his brothers and sister in law, Richard Stucchi of Framingham, David Stucchi & his wife Dale of Framingham, and Carol Patterson & her husband Michael of Bermuda, and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Rick’s life by gathering for a time of visitation in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Thursday morning, August 29th from 9-11AM. A prayer service will begin at 11 o’clock. Interment will be private.
