FRAMINGHAM – Gaetano “Guy” Sidoli, age 85, of Framingham, MA, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2024, surrounded by his children.
Guy was born on May 4, 1939, in Lugagnano, Italy. He was the loving husband to Maria Sidoli who he missed every day after her passing.
Guy is survived by his three children, AnnMarie Hardy and her husband Brian of Bridgewater, Christine Hobby and her husband John of Franklin, and Michael Sidoli of Franklin. Guy was an adoring Grampa to his grandchildren, Anthony, Stephanie and Maggie, as well as great grandchildren, Blakely and Caden.
Guy is predeceased by his parents Giovanni and Maria (Gandolfi) Sidoli, and five brothers. He is also survived by his sister-in-laws Elda Pessini and Lorraine Franzini, brother-in-law Victor Franzini and his wife Jean. He is predeceased by his brother-in-laws Renzo Franzini and Robert Pessini.
On April 4, 1964, Guy left his family farm in Italy to be united with the love of his life, Maria “Marisa” Franzini in the United States. They were married on June 6, 1964.
Guy was a union labor foreman with Local 609 for 30 years. He was well respected by his bosses and peers. Guy had many friends and was loved by all who knew him.
Guy never lost his passion for his Italian heritage and customs. He would often be found in the kitchen with his apron on. He enjoyed making tomato sauce, sausages and homemade pasta. He loved to cook and eat good food. His passion was tending to his garden that produced the most delicious tomatoes.
He was a master of wine making and always shared bottles of red and white with his friends and family. He also enjoyed walking his favorite wooded areas, foraging for porcini mushrooms.
Guy visited his native county several times but most special of visits was in 2010 when he and Maria took all his family to see the beautiful places where he grew up.
Guy was humble, kind and a friend to all. He had the best smile and welcomed everyone into his home. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Relatives and friends are welcome to offer condolences to the family on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 9:45-10:45AM at the St. Tarcisius Church, Waverly Street (Rt 135) Framingham, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00AM. The burial will take place at St. Tarcisius Cemetery.
