Elizabeth F. (McArdle) Schuberth, 91, a longtime resident of Framingham died Sunday, August 11, 2024 at home after a period of declining health. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Patrick E. & Frances W. (Haasis) McArdle, and the beloved wife for more than 70 years of John H. Schuberth, Jr.

Elizabeth was raised and educated in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston. She was a 1951 graduate of Jamaica Plain High School, where she met the love of her life, John.  After high school, John served his country in the United States Air Force, and Elizabeth went to work in a manufacturing plant with her mother.  After the birth of their first son, they settled in Framingham.  John’s work required a lot of travel, so many of the day-to-day tasks of raising four boys were up to Elizabeth.  She did so, all while working as a crossing guard in Framingham for many years, and eventually working for 25 years at St. Patrick’s Manor and Carmel Terrace as a CNA.

Elizabeth was the very definition of a matriarch who had strong family values.  She enjoyed traveling around the world with her husband as well visiting cousins, other family members, and close friends when the opportunity arose.  She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Besides her husband John, Elizabeth is survived by her children, Brian & his wife Sharon, John & his wife Maria, Karl & his wife Jasmin, and Wayne & his wife Cindy, her grandchildren, Michael, Mikayla Morin & her husband Daniel, Brianna, and Emily, and her great granddaughter, Charlotte Morin.

Elizabeth’s family wishes to acknowledge the care she received for the past seven months from The Good Shepherd Hospice, specifically her nurse Shannon who always provided excellent care when it was needed most.

Family and friends will honor and remember Elizabeth’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Friday, August 16th from 4-7 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning, August 17th at St. Bridget’s Church, 830 Worcester Rd., Framingham at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Edgell Grove Cemetery, Framingham.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elizabeth’s name to: The Carmelite Sisters for the Aged & Infirm, 600 Wood Rd., Germantown, NY  12526, https://www.carmelitesisters.com/donate
