Mauretania arriving in New York City.  She was greeted by her oldest brother Jim and traveled back to Brighton, MA.  She later met her husband Patrick James Kinnucane (who had also emigrated to the United States and traveled on the S.S. Mauretania on November 2, 1956) at an Irish dance and they were married on August 22, 1959 at Corpus Christi Church in Auburndale, MA.  Initially living on Eddie Street in West Newton, then moving to Parson’s Street in Brighton, they moved to the suburb of Framingham, MA in November of 1968 where they purchased their first home together.  Barbara was raised in the Catholic faith and was a very religious person.  Settling into the St. Jeremiah’s Parish in Framingham, MA, she loved to sing and joined the choir and was a Eucharistic minister.  Barbara had a great work ethic, landing her dream job at Raytheon where she became an executive secretary and would eventually retire there.  She was so proud to work there.  Barbara was an avid sports fan supporting her Boston teams every chance she got.  Family was another important part of her life.  She enjoyed traveling to see her siblings in Brighton, MA and share stories at family gatherings as well as traveling to Waltham, MA on her husband Patrick’s side. She also felt quite at home in the kitchen baking her Irish soda bread. She was proud of her Irish heritage, always speaking with an Irish accent, and sometimes speaking in Gaelic when it suited her, but she was most proud of becoming an American Citizen.  She passed peacefully on July 26, 2024 in the house that she has called home since 1968.
