Allan Blair Llewellyn, 77, of Plainville MA, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024, after a brief illness. He was born on September 10, 1946, in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada son of the late Lockwood and Eva Llewellyn. He moved to the United States when he was 12 and attended school in Waltham, MA.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Janice (Storer) and his children Rhonda Winkelman of Cranston RI, Scott Llewellyn and his wife Judy (Watton) of Framingham, MA and Wendy Llewellyn of Campobello, SC.

He is also survived by his grandsons, Ryan Llewellyn of Wayland, MA, Shayne Llewellyn, of Campobello, SC, Patrick Watton and Ryan Watton, of Framingham.MA as well as many nieces, nephews and good friends.

He was the youngest brother to the late Arnold Llewellyn, Prince Edward Island, Canada and sisters Myrna West and Carlene Krupski. He recently lost his beloved son-in-law Richie Winkelman in a tragic accident in February 2023.

Blair loved traveling in his RV. It was his dream to see the USA. And he did. He and Jan traveled to many states, Arizona and Utah among his favorites.
He was an avid ice hockey fan, not always a Bruins fan, but loved the game. In his younger years, he coached youth hockey and refereed men’s league games.
He was an excellent Archer; competing in many tournaments, especially the Senior games, held annually. He loved classic country music, the old westerns, and surprisingly, The Cooking Network.

But his true love was his career as a Boston firefighter. That was his calling. He spent most of his career at Ladder 15 Engine 33 station on Boylston St in the Back Bay where the action was in the 70’s. The busier, the better. He was injured many times but loved his job. In 1975 he was awarded the highest commendation, Most Meritorious Act, when he caught a suicidal man jumping from a roof, and holding him in midair with only one hand, until other help arrived. A hero. Even after his retirement he continued to go into Boston to meet up with his station buddies.

He loved his family and all his friends. He will be truly missed.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a time of visitation at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St. (Corner of Union Ave.) Framingham, on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 10AM – 12PM, followed by funeral service at 12PM. Burial will follow at Edgel Grove Cemetery, Framingham.
