Lillian T. (MacKenna) Conway, 96, a longtime resident of Framingham died Friday, July 26, 2024. Born in Medford, she was the daughter of the late James & Mary Gertrude (Kelley) MacKenna, and the beloved wife of the late James A. Conway.
Lillian was raised in the Mission Hill neighborhood of Boston, where she met and married James. Following her graduation from St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing, Lillian began her nursing career at the Peter Bent Brigham (now Brigham & Women’s) Hospital, and continued her lifelong dedication to nursing though her work at St. Patrick’s Manor, Regis College, the Katherine Gibbs School, and Framingham State College. She loved being a nurse, Jim’s wife, a mother, grandmother, aunt, and cherished friend.
Lillian is survived by her children, Michael, Kenneth & his wife Carol, Maureen McCausland & her husband Douglas, Laura & her partner John McNeil, Joseph & his wife Stephanie, and Frank, her grandchildren, Ali and James Davis, Sarah, Meaghan, and Molly McCausland, MacKenna, Delaney, Emma, Chloe, and Brynne, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
In addition to her husband James, Lillian was predeceased by their son, James Jr., and her sister Patricia MacKenna.
Family and friends will honor and remember Lillian’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham, on Tuesday, July 30th from 5-8PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday morning in St. George Church, 74 School St. Framingham at 10 o’clock. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Winchester.
