FRAMINGHAM – Framingham State University is excited to announce the recent appointments of five new members to the Framingham State University Board of Trustees by Governor Maura Healey.  They are:

  • Cherie Comeau – Director of Talent Development at Consigli Construction Co., Inc. and Owner of CC Leadership Solutions, LLC. Dr. Comeau holds a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Northeastern University.
  • Dennis Giombetti – A former Chair of the Framingham City Council and District Liaison to Massachusetts Senate President Karen Spilka.
  • Bonnie Mitchell – Dean Emerita of Framingham State University’s Henry Whittemore Library and Chair of the Friends of Whittemore Library, which raises money to support its operations.
  • Susan Puryear – Attorney and higher education leader, who recently completed her EdD in Higher Education Management at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education.
  • Antonia Soares Thompson – Attorney and Director of Racial Justice Initiatives at the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office. Thompson leads efforts to address racial equity in criminal complaint investigations and prosecutions.

“The Board of Trustees plays an important role in providing oversight and guidance to the leadership team at Framingham State,” says FSU President Nancy S. Niemi. “I’m thrilled to welcome our new members who bring a broad range of experience and expertise to the Board.”

The Framingham State Board of Trustees consists of 11 members, including a Student Trustee. All member serve in a volunteer capacity.

The next full meeting of the Framingham State Board of Trustees is scheduled for September 25 at 6:30 p.m.
