James M. O’Grady, 90, a longtime resident of Framingham and member of St. Bridget Catholic Church, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2024. Born in Newark, New Jersey he was the son of the late. John and Elizabeth O’Grady.

James worked for many years at Colgate Palmolive. He was known as a loyal friend, with a friendly outgoing personality he seemed to know people wherever he went. He could strike up conversation with anyone he met on just about any topic. A lifelong sports fan, especially for the University of Notre Dame Football Team his enthusiasm was evident to all. Soon after graduating from Seton Hall he enlisted in the Air force where he served until 1957.

James leaves behind his wife, Eileen (Magee) and was a doting father to daughters, Patricia (Travis) and Elizabeth (Armand). James has two grandsons Eamonn, Kyle (Scarlett) and is predeceased by grandson Owen, and by his siblings John and Mary Powell.

His family would like to give a special thank you to his dear friend Jim Space for all his love and support. Thank you to his care team in the St. Joseph’s unit at St. Patrick’s Manor Framingham, MA. for their love, care and kindness they showed him during his stay there. In addition, the family would like to thank James at St. Patrick’s Manor who cared for him with love, laughter and understanding they were good friends and buddies.
