Michael Sanderson, RN-BSN, MBA, NREMT-B, recently joined MetroWest Medical Center as Administrative Director of Critical Care and Emergency Services. In his role, Michael will be working with ICU, CVU and ER leadership for overall metrics and operations to meet the demand of our community.
Prior to coming to MetroWest, he worked at Mass General Brigham Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain. He has been a nurse for 10 years and was a Medic prior to going to nursing school.
“Choosing nursing was an automatic choice for me,” says Michael. “I had a personal loss as a child of a family member in a Trauma Unit and it ultimately made my decision to become a Trauma nurse which has provided me many opportunities in nursing.”
When he’s not working, Michael loves to travel and tries to take one international trip a year. “Last year I went to Cairo, Dubai and Amman. I was in the US Army Reserves, which allowed me to see some parts of the world. I’ve completed my requirements but traveling remains an ultimate hobby of mine,” he says.
He also enjoys concerts, new restaurants and many other things Boston has to offer.
“I am dedicated to taking MetroWest to the next level despite the trying times in healthcare throughout Massachusetts and will certainly work together to assure out hospital becomes a beacon in the community,” concludes Michael.
